The first great mystery about apartment hunting in KL is that they typically have two kitchens – a “dry kitchen” which opens out onto the dining area and is typically fully equipped with hob, extractor fan, oven, microwave, fridge and sink, and a “wet kitchen” which also has a hob, extractor fan, bigger sinks, a dishwasher and typically the washing machine and dryer. The wet kitchen also tends to have more cupboard space, the maid’s room and bathroom leading off from it and no air conditioning.
Except in very rare circumstances, despite appearing to have two water intakes, neither kitchen will have hot running water. The dishwasher obviously heats it’s own and today I was told that typically so does the washing machine.
